“White is a colour of protection and encouragement, offering a sense of peace and calm, comfort and hope, helping alleviate emotional upsets. It creates a sense of order and efficiency, a great help if you need to declutter your life.”
I wore all white on Saturday. For years I avoided white, mostly because I had young children, but it also gets dirty so easily. But lately I’ve been embracing it. Maybe as the quote above, its a deeper need to deal with what’s going on in some parts of my life.I picked the boys up from a friend and took them to pick up a few items of clothing. They’re growing so quickly that they are outgrowing their clothing at a phenomenal speed. There were lots of gorgeous items in the stores and so much temptation. I’m on the hunt for a new pair of white skinny jeans, not too thin and with some ‘edginess’ to them. I don’t want gaping holes in them though, but some rips or distressing would be great. Anyone know where I could find some awesome white jeans?
The top I bought from Red Scarlet Boutique, and to be honest, I don’t feel it was actually worth the price I paid, Although it looks pretty on, the material is a cheap polyester blend. The detail of the off the shoulder is the only reason I kept it. I’m very tempted to repurpose a white t-shirt and add the lace/crochet band to it. The only thing that redeemed it at the end of the day was that I got a lot of compliments from ladies on it.
Top : Red Scarlet Boutique, Alberton
Shorts : MRP
Belt : Queenspark
Sandals : Shoe City
Earrings : Fifth Avenue Collection
Bracelet : Ying Yang Trading Glenvista
The shorts have served me well and been worth more than what I paid for them. I buy from MRP fairly often and the trick to making their clothing last is to treat it as though its from an expensive, exclusive boutique. I also look items over carefully, if they look cheap – leave them, no amount of dressing up can make a cheap looking item look expensive.
