Baron & Jodi
Baron & Jodi

Today Schatz made the final and painful decision to let his beloved Jodi cross the bridge to hang out with her brother Baron.  We’ve watch our sweet Jodi-jane deteriorate over the last year and her deterioration was speeding up over the past few months and the last week.  Those who have visited here for a few years will know my photo bomber Jodi.  She’s a big black German Shepherd (yes, not a Labrador but a pure bred German Shepherd) posing in many photos with me.

Liam had noticed yesterday morning that she had messed where she was lying and not stood up.  At dinner time, she could not get up from where she lay outside on the grass next to the patio.  We spent time with her, loving her, stroking her, and thanking her.  I thank her for all the times she’s smiled at me, for protecting our family, for keeping our home safe and letting us know when people were moving about out in the street.  For being my companion when I went out into the garden, whether just watering the garden, taking for photos or welcoming guests – she helped with all those duties.

Its going to take some getting used to not seeing her out there, but I know that we made the right decision for her.

I’m so sorry. Losing a pet is so hard. They are such wonderful, loving companions.

On a cheerful note I really like your hair on the picture where you are wearing the pastel blue skirt and cream shirt 🙂

Tanna, it was sad, she could barely stand up.

That was when I had the highlights in my hair. Thanks sweetie

So jammer vriendin.
