A few weeks back I posted about the treasure box I was working on.  I had bought it with my sister Noleen’s birthday in mind.  She loves ‘old’ stuff and I thought I’d give decoupage with the crackle effect a go and hoped it would turn out good enough to be part of her gift.

If you’ve ever decoupaged with serviettes, you may know that its a tricky thing to master because of how thin the serviette are once you pull them apart.  I had also decided to use the entire servitette instead of just single pictures. I had some moments where I thought I may put the whole idea aside, but I persevered and the overall outcome is not at all bad.  The crackle effect hides a lot of mistakes.

Animal scarf I filled the treasure chest with a leopard print and coral scarf (from Exact and available in stores now), body lotion, body butter and the 3-in-1 makeup remover, cleanser and toner from Justine Cosmetics that she loves.  I think she liked the gift … 🙂

I have since bought another treasure chest that I intend decorating for myself with either the Eiffel tower or a Parisian lady … shall see once I sit down to get started which one talks to me … I may even use both on my chest at once… here’s a peep at them.

‘Til next time … hope your weekend was fantastic.

Thanks Lynette … it was made with lots of love. I almost bought the same scarf for myself, but I think three leopard print scarves is enough – don’t you? lol
